I tried in my acer travelmate 254lmi_dt and the firmware upgrade worked
Components after download:
  NICID: 0x8022 v1.0.0
  PRIID: 0x0015 v1.1.1
  STAID: 0x001f v1.8.4

I have hostap driver already running, and I think I have a  minor
contribution to share:

In the output of prism2_srec -v, in "check mode", I found the "official"
confirmation that sf010804.hex is valid for NICID 0x8022, and some
interesting information about news NICID values, some of them not in the
table, like 0x8021, 0x8023

Looking in the sources of hostap-utils-0.3.7/util.c, there is a
description for this two values, and another one 0x8024 not in the ID
table
